MEDI’S DONE IT!

BRONZE for Medi Harris! What a performance! The North Walian was second at the turn as she tried to stick with Kaylee McKeown and Kylie Masse, and she powered home to finish third in 59.62.

HEARTBREAK FOR RICHARDS

Matt Richards is out of the 100m Free at the semi-final stage after finishing as ninth fastest qualifier. He will be reserve after sprinting to a time of 49.13.

LILY’S DONE IT!!!

Lily Rice WCMX has our first swimming medal of Birmingham 2022! After only picking swimming back up sixth months ago…she can now call herself a Commonwealth Games medallist! WOW!

SMALL INTO FINAL!

Joe Small is into the 50m Back final! Fantastic swim from Joe to qualify seventh fastest in a time of 25.36 Liam White also finishes fourth in his heat but misses out on a place in the final. He will be second reserve.

TONIGHT NEARLY UPON US

Tonight is going to be epic! Lily Rice kicks things off in the 100m Backstroke S8 final.

The Men’s 50 Back, Women’s 50m Fly and Men’s 100m Free semis follow, before Medi goes on the hunt in the 100m Back final.

Cracking swim from Harriet there. Her time of 26:68 sees her qualify fifth for tonight’s semis.

Alys Thomas will be semi-final reserve after touching the wall in 27:52.

Liam White powers home in second in his heat to qualify with an impressive time of 25.30!

Small is safely into the semi-finals, qualifying 10th in 25.60.

Good morning and welcome to day three of the Commonwealth Games. It’s a quieter morning for Team Wales athletes but we still have plenty of swimmers in action.
