From Little Bubbles to Mighty Waves – Learn to Swim Upskilling Series 2023
The ‘From Little Bubbles to Mighty Waves’ Upskilling Series will get underway on the final day of the annual Learn to Swim Week campaign, which will run from Saturday 20th May to Saturday 27th May 2023.
After listening to feedback from our network of Learn to Swim providers, Swim Wales will now host an online series of upskilling sessions for our partners in place of an in-person Learn to Swim Conference for 2023 and beyond.
We hope the new format will prove to be the most effective and practical way of communicating with, engaging and inspiring the swimming teachers who are on poolside across Wales delivering swimming lessons.
Workshops will be delivered across a range of days and times; morning, afternoon, evening and weekends to maximise the opportunity for attendance. Sessions will be either free or low cost with a range of topics to be covered, with at least one opportunity available each month from May through to December, including:
- Understanding Child Development and its impact on delivery
- Capturing Participants Attention!
- Swimming Lesson Themes
- Maximising Effectiveness
- Aquatic Games for Wave 3 and beyond
National Learn to Swim Manager Hanna Guise said: “We are excited to share these upskilling opportunities for swimming teachers across Wales. We are very aware of barriers teachers who want to obtain current information and developments face, and we hope that this series will enable those teachers to maximise the impact of their delivery to give their learners the best possible experience.”
