Swim Wales can provide the following update relating to the age eligibility for the Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 in light of recent changes announced by World Aquatics.
The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) will now be adopting the updated World Aquatics Junior age range for the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, which will now be as below:
Male and Female: 14 – 18 years of age (born in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009).
Competing athletes must meet the respective age requirements by the end of the year of the competition (31 December 2023).
Following this announcement, the Swim Wales selection policy for the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games has been updated to reflect these changes and ensure that eligible athletes are in a position to make the team should they meet the consideration conditions.
