16 Swim Wales athletes delivered an outstanding series of performances at the prestigious Mare Nostrum Swim Tour, competing in both Barcelona and Canet legs of the event. Mare Nostrum holds three meets around the Mediterranean annually. The team demonstrated their strength across multiple disciplines, qualifying for both A and B finals across the two meets.

Barcelona Highlights
Day 1 of the Barcelona leg saw four swimmers reach B finals. Catherine Roberts, Lewis Fraser, Rebecca Sutton, and Zach Speakman all earned spots in their respective events. Fraser had a standout performance, clinching 1st place in the 100m Butterfly B Final. Roberts finished 7th in the 200m Butterfly, Sutton secured 3rd in the 50m Backstroke, and Speakman placed 5th in the 100m Backstroke.
On Day 2, Swim Wales continued to impress with strong showings in the B finals. Lewis Fraser added to his medal tally with a 3rd-place finish in the 50m Butterfly B Final. Rebecca Sutton swam consistently to place 6th in the 100m Backstroke B Final. Josh Inglis finished 4th in the 100m Breaststroke B Final, while Sophie Brassington also claimed a 4th-place finish in the 200m Breaststroke B Final.
Canet Competition Delivers More Success
The team carried their momentum into the Canet leg of the Mare Nostrum series. The opening day of finals was packed with standout performances. Lewis Fraser continued his fine form with a 2nd-place finish in the 100m Butterfly B Final. Amy Crowley secured a 3rd-place finish in the 100m Breaststroke B Final and Scarlett Major also placed 3rd in the 200m Individual Medley B Finals. Joshua Inglis again placed 4th in the 100m Breaststroke B Final. Dan Jones swam to an impressive 4th in the 200m Freestyle B Final, and Seren Tallantyre placed 8th in the 200m IM B Final.
Day 2 saw two Swim Wales athletes reach the prestigious A finals. Lewis Fraser placed 8th in the 50m Butterfly A Final, and Sophie Brassington finished 7th in the 200m Breaststroke A Final.
The B finals continued to showcase Welsh talent: Amy Crowley placed 4th in the 50m Breaststroke, Rebecca Sutton claimed another 3rd-place finish in the 100m Backstroke. Max Anderson topped the 200m Breaststroke B Final with 1st place. Seren Tallantyre delivered a standout performance to take 1st place in the 200m Breaststroke B Final. Rhys Edwards and Catherine Roberts took 5th and 4th in the 200m Butterfly B Final, respectively
A Strong Showing on the International Stage
Swim Wales National Performance Director, Ross Nicholas said:
