Freedom Leisure manages 29 leisure centers across Wales, and was named Swim Wales Learn to Swim Provider of the Year, recognising its delivery of the Learn to Swim Wales framework. The leisure provider also was presented with the Sustainability Initiative Award for its forward-thinking and environmental initiatives.

Swim Wales was delighted to join the award presentation hosted by Freedom Leisure, which saw representatives from its partner, Swansea Council, present the awards directly to the dedicated teams at Swansea centres.
It was a fantastic opportunity to once again recognise the dedication of Freedom Leisure staff to teaching thousands of adults and children the vital life skill of learning to swim.

Hanna Guise, Learn to Swim Manager at Swim Wales, shared:

“Freedom Leisure continues to show an incredible commitment to delivering high-quality swimming lessons that truly reflect the aims of the Learn to Swim Wales framework.”

Ivan Horsfall Turner, Freedom Leisure’s Chief Executive Officer said “These awards belong to our centres and our amazing colleagues that work tirelessly to support their communities. We were delighted that Swim Wales was able to present the awards to our colleagues to showcase their hard work and passion that make our centres such valued hubs for swimming and much more.”

Swansea Council cabinet member Robert Francis Davies said: “We congratulate our partners Freedom Leisure on this significant success. Freedom Leisure manages the council’s leisure centres, including the LC, and we thank them and their staff for their ongoing work. We’ve invested millions of pounds to improve these centres over recent years and we’re delighted that they’re being used day in day out by residents and visitors.”
