You must be 18 years or older to attend this course.
What you will learn
You will be able to identify and recognise good coaching practice and the implications for your coaching explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response recognise and respond to possible signs of child abuse take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise.
Minimum Standards:
This workshop is a ‘Minimum Standards for Active Coaches’ requirement for many governing bodies of sport. The ‘Minimum Standards for Active Coaches’ are seen as the basic standards every coach needs to meet to carry out their role safely and effectively. It can also be attended by all those responsible for organising children’s sport (eg within governing bodies of sport, local authorities, sports and leisure centres, and sports clubs) and those who lead or deliver children’s sport programmes (eg coaches, leaders, instructors, development officials, administrators, volunteers and parents), an estimated 76% of whom undertake these roles on a voluntary basis.
