Allen Bewley has over 50 years’ professional experience in high-level commercial management specialising in business leadership, organisational development, corporate governance and strategic risk management. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (F.C.M.I), former Managing Director of IRC, a Corporate Governance and Occupational Risk Management Consultancy and former Head of Risk Management at RAC/AVIVA, as well as a UK Government - Enterprise Nation, approved growth advisor.
In addition, he has also logged over 30 years management experience at senior levels within the volunteer sector including independent Chair of The FDF, a Centre for Independent Living (CIL) based in North Wales; Faculty Board Member at Edge Hill University and former Board Trustee at Ronald McDonald House Charities.
He became directly involved in aquatics way back in 1988 as a basic level swimming teacher before moving into local and regional event organisation and gala IT management, as well as being a qualified swimming referee.
In the early 90’s he became the Club Secretary, then Club Chair of Holywell ASC, accepting the role of CEO of the North Wales Amateur Swimming Association (NWASA 2002 - 2006). When the old areas were restructured in 2006, he was recruited to the board of Swim Wales as an independent director with additional responsibility for the Swim Wales National Judicial Panel. He was appointed to the role of Swim Wales Chair in 2015.
