Dear affiliated clubs and partners,

We have received notification from Welsh Government following last Friday’s announcement by the First Minister, children will be able to travel out of, or into local lockdown areas to participate in organised sport.

From 18:00 on Friday 16th October 2020, it is a reasonable excuse to enter or leave a local lockdown area to participate in or facilitate organised activities for the development or well-being of children (including sports, music and other recreational activities such as those provided for children outside of school hours and during school holidays).

This change will apply to anyone under the age of 18 (age as of 31st August 2020) and they will be able to be accompanied by one responsible member of their household over the age of 18, if required for transport.

Coaches and Volunteers required to facilitate sessions and classes for children (under 18) can also travel. However, you should still make every effort to minimise travel across local lockdown areas where possible.

FAQs on what is permitted in local lockdown areas are available here:

Adults are not permitted to enter or leave local lockdown areas to participate in sport.

Please stay safe
