A Statement on the International Stage
Being named Best Team overall at such a large-scale international meet is a significant achievement for Swim Wales and reflects the continued progress of Welsh swimming on the European stage.
Ross Nicholas, Swim Wales National Performance Director shared:
“The Euro Meet provided an outstanding early season international racing opportunity against a high calibre field, and it was great to bring the team together to focus on key areas such as team unity, race preparation and recovery, and race execution under pressure. The performances from the meet were very positive and will hopefully provide a springboard for these athletes as they look to gain nomination standards for the Commonwealth Games this summer over the coming months.”
With strong performances across both senior and junior squads, the Luxembourg Euro Meet marked an excellent start to 2026 and a promising indicator of the season ahead for Swim Wales athletes.
