Swim Wales are pleased to announce the publication of the Swim Wales Commonwealth Games 2022 Nomination and Selection Policy for swimming, para-swimming and diving. The aim of this policy is to nominate swimmers and divers to Commonwealth Games Wales that are capable of competing with distinction at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Additionally this policy outlines the process by which Para Swimmers will be selected to Team Wales.

The policy has been written with the aim of maximising our medal potential in Birmingham, and is designed to provide our athletes with the best possible chance to achieve the nomination and selection criteria during these uncertain times. We hope the release of this policy will excite and challenge our athletes and coaches and provide motivation and clear targets for them to aim at during 2021 and the first part of 2022.’

The CGF and World Para Swimming have extended the dates for PARA SWIMMING qualification for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The window for qualification is now 31st December 2020 – 28th February 2022.
