Swim Wales Club Financial Support

Dear ChairI sincerely hope you and your families are remaining safe and well in these very difficult times.

I wanted to write to you specifically on the subject of financial management and support. Many of you will be concerned about your Aquatic club income and expenditure at this time, whether that be collecting fees from your members, paying for facilities hire or paying salaries.

Our teams are in regular contact with all 83 of our member clubs across the regions, providing day to day support and online resources such as the live FAQ document and our performance training advice.

In addition to this, I have spoken to Sport Wales executives, the WSA and Welsh Government to lobby for financial support for you our clubs at this challenging time. I am delighted to say that an emergency fund has been created by the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport to support community sport - Aquatic/Swimming clubs are included in this. I am in constant dialogue with the investment team at Sport Wales to understand the amount available from Welsh Government and how it is to be accessed. My team will be fully briefed on the process by 1200 noon on Monday, 30 March.

I would also like to direct you to some links below which include government support and a guide written by our Aquatic Development team this year to help our affiliated clubs identify alternative sources of funding:

I want to reassure you that as an affiliated member club you have our fullest support and the Aquatic Development team including your Regional Development Manager is only a phone call away.

We are here to help.
