Swim Wales are pleased to have supported the facilitation of a popular Learn to Swim Conference alongside Swim England and Community Leisure UK.
Community Leisure UK, we are a membership organisation that specialises in charitable trusts delivering public leisure and culture services across the UK. Community Leisure UK champion and protect the trust model by enabling networking and knowledge sharing with peers and external stakeholders.
Community Leisure UK members’ manage facilities including: swimming pools, libraries, museums, pitches, gyms, ice arenas, beach fronts, parks, heritage buildings and children’s centres.
The conference had been co-designed with CLUK’s members to allow delegates to learn and develop their knowledge on relevant swimming topics.
The Community Leisure UK conference was delivered in a virtual format for 2021. The events brought together aquatics providers from across the UK to network and discuss key topics relating to aquatics. Swim England and Swim Wales, the recognised NGB's for swimming, are delighted to have worked in collaboration with CLUK to host a number of virtual workshops that inspired aquatics providers in the development of both the sport and their workforce.
Hanna Guise, Swim Wales’ National Learn to Swim Manager, added: "2021 is the first year that Swim Wales have collaborated on this event. The workshops available provided operators and their workforce with some exciting opportunities to support their customers with an aquatically active recovery out of lockdown restrictions."
Katie Towner, Swim England’s Head of Learn to Swim, said: "We were excited to support this event and engage with providers to support the return of aquatic activities by creating and supporting programmes that enable everyone to be active, have fun and stay healthy."
Rachel Sim, Project and Research Officer, Community Leisure UK, said "We're really pleased to have partnered with Swim England and Swim Wales for our third annual Learn to Swim Conference. We were pleased so many organisations were able to join us for this informative and interactive day"
