MyConcern is a safe and effective system designed by former Police Officers for recording and managing safeguarding and wellbeing concerns about children, young people and adults.
Training has taken place for representatives from affiliated member clubs
MyConcern is an online filing system which will replace your current methods of recording your safeguarding concerns. It is GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 compliant.
MyConcern supports you to transform the recording and management of safeguarding concerns to minimise risk, ensure compliance, maximise efficiency and safely share data with any trusted parties and agencies. The records held in MyConcern also prove invaluable in legal proceedings, internal audits and external inspections.
MyConcern does not replace how to report and support a child who may be at risk or has made a disclosure.
MyConcern will however provide a secure method to record procedures followed and actions taken ensuring accurate/dated records are maintained relating to the concern.
Clubs will only be able to access their own recorded concerns. All records are kept confidential to the reporting club and Swim Wales Safeguarding Officer.
Insurers have been advised of the new systems and the way clubs are required to record and report safeguarding concerns as from 1st April 2021.

What happens when you record a concern?
You will still report a concern if a child is at risk using your current procedures to the appropriate authority.
Step 1 - Concern Logged on MyConcern
Step 2 - Swim Wales Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) (Zita Cameron) receives an email notification
Step 3 - DSL adds club welfare officer to the concern for further/ongoing management
