Dear Affiliated Aquatic Member Clubs and wider membership, We hope that you and your families continue to stay safe and well.
Following on from recent Swim Wales updates, we welcome the latest Welsh Government announcement confirming the resumption of organised outdoor children’s activities and sports for U18’s that will take effect from Saturday 27th March onwards. For our Affiliated Aquatic Member Clubs, this provides the opportunity for all members to safely return to land-based training activities outside.
Further guidance on what this means for all participants aged under-18 will be released from Welsh Government later today, and we will communicate this to you as soon as this detail becomes available to us. We would like to also draw your attention to the revised Control Plan from Welsh Government which has been updated to align with today’s announcement and further easing of lockdown restrictions.
We remain committed to a reopening date for our indoor leisure facilities and swimming pools and await a response from our joint CEO and Chairman’s letter of Wednesday 24th March 2021.
All of our efforts are being put into getting our swimming pools open and we are planning further meetings with Welsh Government, Welsh Sports Association and Sport Wales in the next two weeks and continue to make the case for changes to the regulations. As ever, we will keep you informed on our discussions.
We hope this small step forward today can help bring swimmers/players and clubs back together again and we hope it won’t be too long until we have another step forward.
