Medi Eira Harris is a Welsh international swimmer who represents Great Britain and Wales in backstroke and freestyle events. Medi was trained in Swim Gwynedd, under coach Bron Hill.

She first made a major impact in Welsh colours at the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022, winning bronze in the women’s 100m backstroke at just 19 years old. Later that year, she was part of Great Britain’s gold medal-winning women’s 4×100m freestyle relay team at the European Aquatics Championships 2022.

Harris continued her rise in 2023 by winning the 100m backstroke title at the British Swimming Championships 2023, the second time she had claimed the national crown in the event.

After finishing third in the 200m freestyle at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships 2024, she qualified for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

At the Paris Games, the North Wales swimmer placed 19th in the women’s 100m backstroke and achieved fifth place as part of the women’s 4×200m freestyle relay team.

Medi recently won Bronze in the Women’s 50m Backstroke at the 2026 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships.
