Alexandra Bastone

Alexandra Bastone is a middle and long distance specialist. At the recent 2026 Aquatics GB Championships she swam to silver in the 800m freestyle and produced two 4th place finishes in the 400m and 1500m freestyle.
Alexandra’s mother, Bronwen, is from North Wales. Alexandra is following in the footsteps of her uncle, Tony Day, who represented Team Wales in the pool at the Commonwealth Games Edinburgh in 1986.
She is currently studying psychology at Harvard University in the United States, where she continues to develop as a student-athlete competing at an elite level. Bastone is the Harvard program record holder in the 500, 1000, and 1650 Freestyle.
In 2026, she also competed on the US circuit at the TYR Pro Swim Series, further gaining experience against strong international fields.
Alexandra continues to build her profile as a versatile distance freestyle and IM swimmer across both NCAA and international competition.
Her major recent achievements include:
2 x 4th place finishes in the A final of the 40mm and 1500m freestyle at the 2026 Aquatics GB Championships
Silver at the 2026 Aquatics GB Championships in the 800m freestyle
6th place finish in the 1500m freestyle at the 2026 USA Swimming Pro Series Westmont
