- National, Performance
On July 6th this year for the first time ever Wales will have representatives competing in the Swiss Open. Artistic Swimming was revived in Wales 5 years ago with the formation of Swansea Synchro and less than 12 months ago Swim Wales selected swimmers to train as the Welsh Development Squad. The Welsh Development Squad train at Llanelli Leisure Centre and are a mixture of 1 boy and 4 girls. The Squad Consists of Duet Megan Pullen and Sophie Williams, Mixed Duet Rosa George and Ioan Gravell and Caitlin Evans (reserve).
Holly Curson Development Coach says “The squad was formed in November 2017 and since then the athletes have trained tirelessly every week. Having these athletes make the trip to Switzerland just shows how hard they have worked to be able to compete on the international stage. This is not only a massive achievement for the athletes but it also highlights how far the sport has come on in Wales over a short space of time."
From everyone at home in Wales we wish you all the best of luck!
