Swansea Water Polo play first ever match!

Swansea Water Polo Juniors 4 Newport 5

It will live long in the memory. Remember Thursday 17th October 2013 because this is the night Swansea Water Polo Juniors played their and the club's first ever match. Luke Lewis (Coach) has entered the club into the welsh league and being such a new club it has been a big positive step forward.

With a big crowd poolside the players (some playing their first ever match) took to the pool. In a tense opening Newport stamped their authority on the match opening up a two goal lead in the first quarter. Swansea gained confidence and got used to the match environment as the game wore on. This was concluded by two quick fire goals to level the contest.

Newport again however showed their experience and stretched away again adding two more, the hosts pulled one back before Newport rounded off their fifth of the evening. A late consulation by Swansea was not enough to see Newport edge a terrific match.

For Swansea it is the start of a bright future and with a strong coaching structure in place I am sure you will agree we will see them improve and develop as time goes on.
