The Club trains throughout the Rhondda Cynon Taff local authority with Head Coach Keith Morgan.
RCT Performance Swim Squad Chairperson Tracy Davies said: "The club is extremely proud and excited to be recognised as a Regional Performance Club. We are looking forward to providing the training facilities and support for talented swimmers across the whole of RCT to maximise their swimming potential."
Swim Wales National Performance Director Ross Nicholas is excited to see the Performance Club network grow. He said: “It is great news that RCT have become the 11th Performance Club in Wales. Their promotion to this status is a result of the excellent progress made by the club over the last two years and the positive collaboration with Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council. This expansion of the Swim Wales Performance Club network will ensure that aspiring young performance swimmers from the RCT region will be able to access the necessary training environment to help them develop their potential without having to travel large distances.”
Swim Wales Head of Aquatic Development Simon Clarke congratulated the team on their new status “A big congratulations to RCT Performance and all the team for continuously striving to be the best they can be."
Simon is excited to see what the Performance club can do for the area adding: “This is a fantastic opportunity for all clubs in RCT to maximise the potential of the Local Authority. With the continued fantastic support from the RCT Sports development and leisure teams, it will be a very exciting time ahead.''
