WaterPolo to launch at the National Pool!

The new City of Swansea Aquatic Club will have another string to it's bow next week
when Swansea Water Polo officially launches at the National Pool. The senior
session which will take place weekly 9pm - 10pm on a Tuesday evening marks a
significant step forward for Water Polo development across Wales.

The club started two years ago and was running a number of sessions out of Penyrheol
swimming pool. The session grew thanks to Luke Lewis and Sue
Hatcher and has proudly fielded 3 top athletes in the winning junior ladies
team in this year's Tri-Nations, including captain Laura Hatcher as well as Eve
Burns-Thomas and tournament MVP and Top Goal Scorer Lowri Hancock.

Through exciting developments in Swansea, Mark Tancock and Mark Arnold (Swim Wales) have
worked with key personnel within the club to create an exciting partnership.
The Swansea Water Polo club will operate under the banner of the City of
Swansea Aquatic Club and will be the culmination of a lot of hard work.

Mark Tancock said "People like Paul Killa, Sue Hatcher and others have
been running a developing club for some time, it was important for the City of
Swansea Aquatic Club to buy into the great work that has gone on but also supply the right development plans for long term growth and sustainability. I think I speak for everyone when I say how exciting the times are ahead. We have a structure in place which will cater for juniors up to seniors and the right
qualified coaches in place to move the sport forward. Water Polo being played at the National Pool is a landmark for all of us and something we should be very proud of."
