Swim Safe has yet again come around and we are very excited here in Wales as we have four sites offering the Programme to 07-14 years old. The Programme offers free 

Swim Safe runs every summer at various sites such as beaches, lakes and other inland locations.

Children get to enjoy a fun, structured swimming session at a choice of open water locations such as beaches and lakes and learn all about how to stay safe. Sessions include:

•             60 minute sessions run by Qualified Swimming Teachers, supported by a team of trained Volunteers

•             Beach safety advice provided by Qualified Lifeguards

•             Up to 30 minutes in-water tuition with Qualified Swimming Teachers

•             All the right kit for swimming outdoors which includes Swim Hats, Wetsuits and Swimming Aids

 

Cardiff International White Water Centre Programme Dates:

•             29th May – 01st June 2018

•             22nd July 2018

•             29th July 2018

•             05th August 2018

•             12th August 2018

•             19th August 2018

•             26th August 2018 

Criccieth Lifeboat Station Programme Dates:

•             13th-15th July 2018

For us to run successful sessions, Swim Teachers will be responsible for small groups of up to eight children in the water, with a maximum of three teachers per session. You will be supported by Qualified Lifeguards and have a variety of teaching resources.

We are seeking Level 2 Swim Teachers local to the venue with experience of delivering personal survival and water safety lessons. Outdoor water instructors with an equivalent Level 2 Teaching or Coaching Qualification will also be considered, for example:

•             SLSGB Level 2 Coach Award

•             ISA Level 1 Surf Coach

Successful applicants will be required to attend a mandatory Swim Safe CPD training day at Cardiff International White Water Centre on the 3rd May 2018 from 12:00-15:00. The training day will consist of a classroom session and an in-water practical session. You will require your own wetsuit for the CPD and Swim Safe delivery which is suitable for the water environment.

Successful applicants will be employed on a Swim England Casual Contract and paid £12.00 Per Hour. Consideration will be given to Teachers who can commit regularly for the duration of the Swim Safe Programme. All sessions are weather dependent, with cancellation possible at short notice. Please note that successful applicants will be subject to DBC Checks carried out by Swim England of behalf of Swim Safe.
