Although it may not have warmed up down there by the beach just yet, it’s time to start thinking about keeping your pupils safe in and around the water this summer. Whether they are by a beach, river or lake, the skills involved in keeping safe in open water are quite different to an indoor swimming pool.
National governing bodies Swim Wales and Swim England along with RNLI are delighted to announce the return of Swim Safe to North Wales this summer.
Practical, interactive, educational and fun, each Swim Safe for Schools session includes a land-based safety lesson with an RNLI Lifeguard and in-water tuition using qualified swimming teachers, and is completely FREE.
Hosted at RNLI Criccieth Lifeboat Station, the hour-long sessions are tailored specifically to meet elements of the National Curriculum swimming outcomes, both through face-to-face discussions and practical activities in the water.
Aimed at pupils aged 8 and over who are already able to swim 25 metres unaided, Swim Safe for Schools builds on that ability and teaches them the essential techniques to enable them to be safe in and around open water.
We would love for your school to be involved. Why not bring a group of your pupils along to take part? Swim Safe for Schools will be coming to Criccieth on:
Friday 13th July 2018
We provide everything needed including wetsuits, parental consent forms and full lifeguard cover to make sure it’s a safe and an easy activity for your school to take part in.
