Every child in Wales has an entitlement to attend school
swimming lessons during their time in Junior school (Key Stage 2).
The National Curriculum for Physical Education in Wales states that
pupils should be taught to:
- Develop skills of water safety and personal survival
- Swim unaided for a sustained period of time
For many children, attending lessons with their school will be
their first taste of regular swimming. If your child hasn't had
swimming lessons in school yet, contact the Head Teacher to find
out when the lessons will take place.
