To help every child in Wales learn to swim before they leave
primary school is one of Swim Wales' goals. This will only happen
if there are sufficient enthusiastic and qualified people involved
with primary school swimming.
The Certificate for Teaching School Swimming (Key stages
1 and 2) is open to any person working within a
primary school swimming programme, for example, school teacher,
classroom assistant, learning support staff, nursery nurse,
qualified swimming teacher, parent and other helpers. In addition,
students involved in initial teacher training may also attend.
The course consists of two modules:
- Module 1 National Curriculum Training Programme (Units 1 &
2)
- Module 2 National Curriculum Training Programme (Units 3, 4
& 5)
