Once your child has learnt the basics, joining a local swimming club is the logical progression.

For some children going to swimming club each week is a recreational activity with their friends, for others it's the first step towards competitive swimming and the long road to becoming a champion. While setting a record is superb and wining feels great, it's not for everyone. But all club swimmers learn important life skills as well as reaping the well-known benefits of swimming. Most clubs offer tryout sessions where you can your child can see what happens in a club training session and your child's swimming abilities will be assessed by one of the coaches.
