Hidden Potential Programme

This programme, currently at the planning stage, will be targeting swimmers already in mainstream clubs that may not be aware there are disability competition opportunities available to them.

2020 Vision

Another new programme at planning stage, this will help Swim Wales to attract swimmers with a visual impairment into the sport, identify talented swimmers and target places at the 2020 Paralympic Games.

Swimmer trackers

New swimmers are asked to complete a tracker form and return to Disability Manager. Swimmers are placed onto a tracker database and monitored.

Development events

For swimmers that are not at a performance level but wish to compete, Swim Wales will be introducing development events for club swimmers with a disability. There will also be events available for swimmers that are awaiting classification.

Talent ID toolkit

British Swimming have been developing a Disability Swimmmer Toolkit that offers guidance for determining what level a swimmer may be, using example times and assessment activities as guidance.
