Head Coach Profile
A level 4 coach and Head Coach at Swim Swansea since 2007, Adam
Baker is a former national level competitor. During his time at the
club he has made significant changes to the structure of the
training programme, developing it into one of the strongest in
Wales. Swim Swansea's performance pathway now offers an elite
training environment for the area's top swimmers.
Adam's innovative coaching ideas have produced a wide variety of
swimmers in both the able-bodied and disabled categories. He has
coached swimmers on to the British and Welsh Junior and Senior
National teams. Since 2007 he has been on the coaching staff of
both Welsh and Great Britain squads, and in 2011 Adam was selected
for Team GB European Youth Olympics coaching staff, placing two
swimmers on the team. The swimmers won five medals, including a
gold medal, at the Youth Olympics.

Club Profile
Swim Swansea is the Performance Club based in Swansea, offering
training opportunities for all levels of competitive swimmers. Swim
Swansea offers two development pathways. Pathway 1 is the
Performance pathway offering elite coaching and training
opportunities to national standard and higher swimmers. Pathway 2
is the Competitive Development pathway delivering an expert
coaching programme to swimmers who are either late developers or
who have not as yet achieved Performance level criteria.
Swim Swansea has ten squads in total: three in each pathway plus
an additional four squads focussing on early development of
swimming skills and technique. They train at Penlan leisure centre
and the Wales National Pool.
