CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Marco showed promise as a junior swimmer out of Guildford
City SC, winning 100m Backstroke silver at the 2005 European Youth
Olympic Festival then a gold (100m Back) and two silvers (50m &
200m Backstroke) at his second European Junior Championships in
2007. He narrowly missed out on the Beijing Olympic team after 100m
and 200m Backstroke bronze medals at the 2008 British Champs but
travelled to his first World Championships a year later, competing
over 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke. Representing Wales at his first
Commonwealth Games in 2010, Marco finished fourth in the 100m
Backstroke as well as reaching the 50m and 200m Back finals. He
qualified for London 2012 at the ASA Nationals, finishing second in
a nailbiting 200m Backstroke final.
