CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

I hold the Welsh Senior records in the 50m, 100m and 200m back stroke. I went to European Juniors in 2005 and won a bronze in the 100 Bk. That year I also went to World Youths and won a bronze in the 4x100 medley relay. I have been to European short course for GB four times, and the most recent time I won silver in the 50m BK in a PB of 26.9. (2011) I went to the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010 where I won a Bronze in the 50m BK and made the final in the 100m BK, medley relay and 4x200FC relay. I represented GB in the World championships in Shanghai in 2011 in the 4x100m medley relay posting a time of 59.9. I have been selected for the 2012 London Olympic Games for the 100m backstroke. My goals at the Olympics are to PB, and hopefully make it through the rounds from heat to semi and so on.

GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS

PERSONAL DETAILS

  • I have always lived in Swansea. I am fluent in Welsh, and my primary and secondary schools were both welsh speaking. My parents can't speak welsh. I am an only child. I studied Law last year at Swansea University, but have taken a year out this year to focus on training.
  • I have a cat called Jonah that I don't really like. (he bites me a lot!)
  • In my spare time I like going to the cinema and watching movies, listening to music, shopping, going to the beach (when it's not raining) and spending time with friends.
  • I love most sports. If I wasn't a swimmer I would definitely be doing some other sport.
