throughout the year. They provide a competitive outlet for Swim
Wales members, helping swimmers to understand competition
structures and processes and giving them opportunities to showcase
their skills.
The region's competitive success has been boosted by four
Performance Clubs - Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend and Torfaen -
supported by a strong network of Swimming Clubs. Many Welsh and GB
Internationals either currently live, or have their home base,
within the region, including Olympian and Paralympians David
Davies, Ieuan Lloyd, Tom Haffield, David Roberts, Morgyn Peters,
Nyree Kindred, Rhiannon Henry and Liz Johnson.
Aquatics have a strong history in the region and there are some
exciting times to come with the building of new facilities,
partnerships being formed and a united focus on the Aquatic Pathway
targets.
