Rowing is a sport that is enjoyed by all ages; it can be
started when in junior school and continued into
retirement.
The best way to get involved in rowing is to contact your local
club. Most offer opportunities for beginners to
try the sport, ranging from open days to Learn to Row courses. If
you have a competitive streak, there are plenty of opportunities on
the water and even an indoor
rowing championship!
Advances in rowing equipment mean that it is increasingly an
inclusive sport and some clubs offer adaptive rowing - the name
given to rowing for people with a disability. For further
information, contact Welsh Rowing.
Sea rowing is a separate discipline, with clubs around most of the Welsh coastline.
